As a company; it is our goal to evolve continuously and be at the forefront of changes within the security world … In the pursuit of event security excellence, a partnership with The United Kingdom Crowd Management Association (UKCMA) seemed like a logical step.
TMS believe the safety of any event attendee is of paramount importance, as a member of the UKCMA our event security team will have ongoing access to the latest and best training, developed in association with the following bodies:
Security Industry Authority, ACS Standards and Strategy Group, The Events Industry Forum, Skills for Security, the revision of The Purple Guide, Police and Security Working Group, Home Office SIA Transition Consultation Group, SIA Diversity Conference.
Who Will The Partnership Benefit?
In short, any event managed by the TMS team will benefit from the gold standard in public safety. We believe this is a positive step for our clients, event attendees and staff.

We strongly believe our business has an important role to play in the local community and realise how important it is to give back.
Recently we were saddened to hear about a spate of thefts at the British Heart Foundation store in Maidstone town centre.
As anyone familiar with TMS Protection will know it is our policy to support local charitable organisations, in the past among others we have supported the Urban Blue Bus which helps to keep Maidstone revellers safe on a night out.
As a business, we have a particular interest in Maidstone we are based here and we currently provide both Taxi Marshals and Town Centre Wardens in the county town.
Naturally, we were disappointed to hear about the thefts from the British Heart Foundation and wanted to help, our Managing Director Tom Devine has decided to provide the Maidstone shop with a security guard each Saturday free of charge.
A quote from Tom
“It’s hard to understand as they are a charity, but I guess that’s the society we live in these days I thought it makes sense if we donate a security guard. Obviously we will cover the cost and hopefully, it will be a deterrent to thieves. You can’t just take as a business you have to give back to the community.”

After stringent vetting and careful consideration by the chief constable of Kent police TMS Protection Ltd has been accepted into the Community safety accreditation scheme (CSAS) this is a considerable achievement for our team and is a nod to the great work our street marshals have been doing in Maidstone.
We are especially proud of this achievement as our business is one of only two in the Kent area that has successfully applied for CSAS.
What is the CSAS?
CSAS is a voluntary scheme under which chief constables can choose to accredit employed people already working in roles that contribute to maintaining and improving community safety with limited but targeted powers. These roles include neighbourhood wardens, hospital security guards, park wardens, shopping mall guards and train guards.
The scheme creates a framework for public and private bodies to work in partnership with the police, providing an additional uniformed presence in communities and capitalising on the skills and information captured by those already engaged with the community.
All schemes are managed, monitored and assessed at a local level by the responsible police force. Main benefits of the scheme include:
increasing uniformed presence on the streets (CSAS accredited persons wear the uniform of their employing organisation, with an identification badge endorsed by the local police force)
reductions in local issues such as street drinking, begging and dog fouling
saving valuable police time in community safety to deal with low-level crime and disorder
promoting greater business involvement with the police, and allowing the police to influence the training of businesses, e.g. security companies
promoting partnership working and the 2-way exchange of information and intelligence between agencies
What are our new powers?
Power to require giving of name and address
Power to deal with begging
Power to require persons drinking in designated places to surrender alcohol
Power to control traffic for purposes other than escorting a load of exceptional dimensions
How will the above powers benefit the local community?
Handpicked, vetted members of our staff will use the powers at their disposal to make our presence on the street more credible this, in turn, will help to reduce anti-social behaviour and free up police time.
Everyone at TMS is proud to of gained the CSAS status: we intend to work closely with Kent police to stamp out anti-social behaviour in the county town.
The Maidsafe initiative is tasked with keeping the streets of the county town safe, to this end TMS provide both street and taxi marshals.
Our team ensure night time revelers in Maidstone have a safe and enjoyable experience. We believe the service we provide is an essential part of nights out in Maidstone.
As such all members of the TMS Team are delighted to of won the Maidsafe award for services to the Night Time Enonomy. You can read more the Maidsafe awards here
